Erfert Fenton

Erfert Fenton is a ranch hand and technical writer who resides in the Silicon Valley. When she's not riding or writing, Erfert spends her time cruising the Web for bizarre sites, many of which have found their way into this book. She is the author of numerous computer books (including The Macintosh Font Book and Art of Darkness) and magazine articles in Macworld magazine and elsewhere.

Her horse just gave birth to a new foal.

 

David Pogue

David Pogue writes "The Desktop Critic" (back-page) column for Macworld magazine. In New York, his computer students include Mia Farrow, Carly Simon, Harry Connick Jr., Stephen Sondheim, Vanessa Redgrave, and others.

Pogue is the author of Macs for Dummies, the #1 bestselling Macintosh book since its publication in 1992 &emdash; in all of its 17 languages and four editions. His other books include More Macs for Dummies; the 1100-page bestseller Macworld Mac Secrets (co-author); Mac FAQs; and a novel, Hard Drive (a New York Times "notable book of the year"). In his other life, David is a musical-theater conductor, having conducted several Broadway shows. He and his wife Jennifer Pogue, MD, live in Connecticut.
